the Lodge, PLEASE.
> Do you have an event going on from which you would like to see photos posted to the website? Our Lodge

Special Note From the Secretary:
MAY is TACO SHELL Dinner Month celebrating Cinco de Mayo at the Stated Meeting.
NEWS FLASH FROM THE KITCHEN: Beef Taco Shells will be served UNLESS you contact the Secretary no later than Friday, May 2nd and request chicken.
If you have ALREADY given your order to Worthy Matron and Chief Cook and Bottle Washer, PAM HORTON, DO NOT send me a duplicate order. !!! There will be a by-name list for chicken requests submitted to the kitchen cooks. You snooze – you lose. Boc-Boc-Boc is the code word for chicken.
Regardless, we need a total headcount for dinner because the shells are made fresh, from scratch. Our ladies work hard to provide the best dinners in Masonry – and this one is a special challenge. So, help out. If you are coming and you have received this Trestleboard and have not spoken to Pam Horton already, please give the Secretary an email or phone call (voicemail works) to confirm – please! Thank you!

Brethren we have been having an exciting month in Lodge. We completed two Degrees in April, welcoming a
new Entered Apprentice into our Fraternity and Raising a new Master Mason.
We have planned another Master Mason Degree this month, so there is much to do.
On the less serious side, the Ugly Tie contest conducted in April crowned a new Champion in the person of Worshipful Brother Howard Peterson whose necktie bested the previous record holder owned by our Treasurer WB Jeff Horton PM who took the defeat with only mild protest.
May promises to be another month not to miss in Lodge.
See you there !

- Senior Warden - 2014 -
The Senior Warden’s computer is down, but he wishes our newly obligated brother a hearty welcome and our
newest Master Mason congrats.
Also, he was very pleased with the work at the Retreat and has some info that
can be passed on.
Finally, he reminds us that Grand Lodge is right around the corner.

Ever wonder just what the 47th problem of Euclid is all about? Truth is, you probably already know it by heart - at least if you stayed awake in Geometry class in high school; although I confess I had a problem there myself now and then.
Anyway, it might be Euclid's 'problem' but its solution is Pythagoras' Theorem - that of finding the hypotenuse of a right triangle, given the length of the remaining two sides; the familiar (let's go way back) C = square-root(B**2 + A**2) or the "old 3,4,5" triangle [ SEC - the Mason’s golden numbers]. So the 'problem' is really the intersection of two outstanding Geometers: Pythagoras and Euclid. [And now for some non-
Euclidian Geometry, which swings way out there.] The next problem is really easy:
When is the next Stated Meeting? Hint: 05/05/14, hope to see you there!
Final Note to all: We marked spring's arrival with the Ugly Tie Contest. Past Master Jeff Horton’s celebrated "ugliest tie" was hauled out of mothballs once again but LOST to the utter dismay of all onlookers and his vociferous protests.
The winner was acclaimed as WB Howard E. Peterson JR's vintage 1948 tie originating from Australia. Next year, Ugly Tie Contestants, no ties from "down under"!
Sincerely and Fraternally,
BR John C. Cayce
