>We note with regret, yet hope in the eternal, the Passing of our second WM, WB Fred E. Allison PM, April 7, 2013. Our Charter will be draped in remembrance of him during the month of May.
>My Brothers, your Donations to our charities and general fund have been well received! Our First Annual Bikes 4 Books Raffle Campaign has passed the break-even point. The first drawing for a $50 Frys Gift Card has been held and awarded. Still sitting on the fence about sending in some tickets? (and check or money order), now is the time to do it! Thank You! (These Frys Gift Cards ALSO return money to the Lodge for each time used, reloaded, and reused.)
>In April, we were pleased to have our Lodge Brother RW Michael Manning, AZ Senior Grand Warden, visit and while with us, present a SIXTY YEAR Recognition of Service in Freemasonry to BR Frederic Robert "Bob" Morris. WOW!
>MAY Happy Birthdays! WBs/PMs: Norman Griffin, Steve Harrington, James Wild; BRs: Elgin Ball, Herbert Burris, Jerrold Cohen, John Dierdorf, William Harris III, Jones Hobbs (94!), Jimmy Huddleston, Stephen Lamb, David McDonald, Jonathan Randol, Donald Stevens (91!), Donald Taylor, Wright Thomas, and Morton Tuller (92!).

Which reminds me, the special Taco Shell Dinner for the May Stated Meeting - Please send me an email and let me know if you intend to come to the dinner. Secondly, please tell me if you want chicken.

My Brothers, your Lodge is bustling with lots of good Masonic activity. The younger Officers and Members are stepping up to the challenge of doing parts in degree work. Currently coaches are diligently endeavoring to move their candidates forward at various degree levels. So, I challenge everyone to return to Lodge, view the work and provide that great support everyone needs. Hopefully you will remember the support you received when you were doing your part in degree work and realize how important it is for you to repay your lodge by being there for those who followed you.
If you have been indisposed and have not attended lodge for six months or longer, I challenge you to return and enjoy dinner on me for the first two meetings you attend. I suggest you try the Monthly Stated Meetings of May 6 and June 3 where you will enjoy our Annual Taco Shell Dinner and Chicken Cordon Bleu, respectively.
At the May Stated Meeting, the Job's Daughters will do a short program which is open to everyone. So, Please!, bring your whole family. This program is of interest to all Masonic-related people and your young daughter or granddaughter may become interested in it. Masonic youth activities deserve our support so please show them we care.
THANKS!, for your support of the Fry's gift card program. It has begun to pay off for the Lodge plus you still get your same discount on purchases. It is very easy to use and we are rewarded each time you use it to buy anything there. Remember to reload the Lodge-procured Fry’s Gift Card and go shopping!

A few weeks ago I received an offer from the American Express Company to participate in their "high yield savings account plan". I noticed that the Annual Percentage Yield was 0.85%! Less than one percent per year! This is "high yield"...and at that, it most likely is more than you could get at other banking institutions. It shows how difficult it is to get much of a return on an investment that in the past nearly everyone took advantage of.
Thank heavens we have Freemasonry. The investment in the "Bank of Brotherhood" pays far greater dividends than the average savings account...and the return is far more valuable than money. We invest our time, our effort, compassion and love...and we get back dividends no bank has ever been able to match in good times or bad.
We invest in the oldest, largest, and arguably, the most important fraternity in the world....a special and unique organization concerned only with promoting good values and the improvement of members and society....where we can find a social network of men who have a lot in common and share a special bond... where religion, politics, race, social order are not issues and every man is treated as an equal.
Where else can you get that sort of a return on an investment?
