Through the efforts of WB Henry L. Spomer PM, Walmart has sent us a grant check of $500.00 towards our Bikes For Books Program.
Congratulations to WB Henry for generating this donation and thanks to all the members who have offered additional donations in 2014 (and past years!).
Once again, WB Henry and his team should be able to place over 20 bicycles in local schools to promote reading.
Well done, MM#56!

Back in the saddle at the Duke’s Lodge. Thank you all for your kind words of condolence and offers of assistance.
My Daughter, Amber Lee (of Horizon Chapter #69 OES) and I, both have felt the heart-felt warmth of our Brother Masons and Sisters in the Star and from our extended family in the craft, everywhere.
Words cannot express our gratitude for receiving your comfort in our time of sorrow. And now, as my late wife has been put to rest and has moved on to her celestial residence, it is time for me and us to move on and do what we can to make us worthy of being called Brother and Sister.
May God bless us all with his grace!

Greetings Brethren, near and far.
We are off to a good start in Lodge for 2014. A number of Brothers either participated in or attended the first George Washington Degree held in several years.
Your Worshipful Master was Senior Warden Count de Lafayette in the opening of the 3rd Degree held at the Scottish Rite Cathedral.
In the coming two months we will hopefully have our own chance to raise Brothers to the Sublime Degree of Master Mason, one in March and a second in April. I urge one and all to come to Lodge to participate and to support our candidates.
The much talked about "Ugly Tie Contest" will be held at the Stated Meeting in April so dig out that necktie
you were given and never wear and challenge our Worshipful Treasurer who feels confident his famously ugly
tie will be victorious.
I'll see you in Lodge.

Wow! What a great start to the year - an official visit from Most Worshipful William Garrard, Grand Master of Masons in Arizona, and most of the Grand Lodge officers of The Arizona Grand Lodge.
Right Worshipful Brother Michael Manning (Deputy Grand Master and Duke’s Lodge member) received his fifty year pin from the Grand Master.
Two Fellowcraft Degrees were performed the same night and Brother Senior Deacon Pat Zech did a fantastic job for his first time with the second degree lecture.
The Grand Lodge Officers retreat in March is fast approaching and may be attended by any Master Mason. Deacons and Stewards please think about attending this retreat it will be most useful in years to come.
Arizona Grand Lodge has a Registration Form online.
Sincerely and Fraternally,

As Freemasons, our attention is directed to the study of Geometry as well as Astronomy and we usually think of Pythagoras, Euclid, Descartes, and Newton as some of the great lights, as they indeed are.
But right here in the Southwest we had some pretty impressive, albeit more practical examples of patience, skill and keen
The ancient people of the Chaco Canyon area not only mapped out the yearly solstices and
equinoxes, but took it to the next level and mapped out the cycles of the moon and even built their walls to
coincide with lunar maximums and minimums.
Now, on a more practical and immediate note, please navigate on down to the Lodge for the March stated
meeting; a nice dinner and fraternal fellowship awaits you.
Sincerely and Fraternally,
BR John C. Cayce
